word to everything. i was adamant that i wasn't going to see this movie, in part because people at work (even people who were totally into the series, despite not being teens) talked about the creepy abstinence angle to the books. i so wanted no part of it, and besides, it looked ridiculous. it was on a plane i was on, and i refused to watch it, even though i was, you know, on a plane (i watched the family stone on a plane, and that movie was god-awful). but, then the biggest fangirl at work invited us all over to watch it and said we could make fun of it, and i do like a social outing, so i went. it's much better when you mock it mercilessly than it would be if you watched it seriously, is all i can say
( ... )
i think the thing that struck me the most after wasting 2 plus hours is how infinitely better buffy is. basically there is nothing substantive here. at least nothing that i can see. seriously, i don't think it's even worth the time and/or energy to mock. the only interesting bit was w/ the wolf clan and that's only because i was trying to figure if that dude in the wheelchair could in fact turn into a wolf. but that's just me being inappropriate.
still, i don't know, i've seen a lot of bad movies and this one is bad, weird and creepy. it's like the trifecta of suck. people are just there doing stuff that doesn't make sense. it's just bad and like you said, unfortunately there are girls out there who will use what they see here as some kinda of blueprint for dating. boy are they in for a rude awakening is all i've gotta say.
