Prairie dogs popping up and jays banging on our walls.  It must be spring

Actually, they drop down the chimney into the stove where I can hear them madly flittering about in the ashes. It is a mess, but so gratifying to watch them fly out of my hands. Exciting entertainment for Dickens, too.
