Are chopped up desert boots no longer allowed? You can pick those up for 10-15 quid and attack them with a craft knife to get the right look.

Sadly while I could use chopped up dessert boots for this first event as its a carnival parade so noones going to be looking to closely they're not allowed for other events. I can get a pair of latchet shoes for just under £50 so I guess this is what I may have to do. Just not sure I can justify that level of expense sadly, hmm trip may be off and I'll have to wait till kit can be sorted out properly.

Not the most perfect, I know, but has to be better than modern boots, right? $20 for the shoes + $37 for the shipping = $57 = a bit less than 50 pounds.
