I'd also prefer another something green, but that's just because I'm not fond of green bean casserole. Tends to be to goopy for me.
The eight of us are having roast duck, carrot souffle, brocolli, something starchy that's yet to be decided, and salad. Dessert will be pecan pie and either sweet potato or apple pie.
I'll add salad, shallots and Dijon mustard to the list, and whip up a vinaigrette or lemonette Friday.
Hmm, some beer and wine and some soda for the kids then. I'm always nervous about wine with my family. My sister is a collector of local wines, and my taste for wine isn't as refined as hers. I'll can buy some local beer at least.
Possible brussel sprouts, or possibly asparagus? And I think you're missing rolls. How is it a family event if you don't have the possibility of forgetting the rolls?
What an awesome spread it was! From the pungent bite of the powdery bleu cheese to the final pumpkin roll, it was memorable. To have corned beef that was neither stringy nor over-salted was an unusual treat as well. The mashed potatoes may have been my favorite. Will you send me the recipe? :) brother D
