Right then, I have a small problem, I’ve been trying to get a wig from Amphigory.com but my orders kept getting lost (I thought), but they just got back to me letting me know that they never filled my orders because the ship date I gave was not enough time apparently they require at least 12-15 business days to process orders (wtf? I need a long black one with no bangs or side swept bangs with the hair hanging below the the shoulders and I'm going to be altering the hell out of it so it would be ruined for anything else...
Also it needs to be medium to relativly high quality so it can stand up to getting modified.

If you manage to find a nice wig that would work save for the fact that it's wavy (not super curly I mean XP), you can actually straighten it out pretty easily using hot water. I wouldn't get something that was super difficult to fix, but if it's just not super-straight, you don't have to take it off of your list. ^^

WTF. So I recommended amphigory because of all the great things I'd heard about it, but I am SERIOUSLY not impressed with them right now. o_o You ordered your wig WEEKS before mine, and they're not having a problem getting it in before Otakon (within the 15 day window, mind you... so unless you put, like, June 25th or something as your deadline, I don't understand). My own exchange with them went something like this:

Me: *places order for wig and extensions in the third week of June, need by date for July 2, within the 15 day window*
Amphigory: *one week later* Hey, looks like we're out of stock of the Lily color extensions, do you want us to substute white instead?
Me: *next day* No thanks, since white will never mesh. When are you getting them in stock? I can push my need-by date back to June 9th?
Amphigory: *same day* We're not going to have them until August.
Me: *same day* Okay, in that case just take them off the order, and I'll just keep the wig.
Amphigory: *next day* Unfortunately we won't be able to make your need-by ( ... )

Unfortunately I don’t exactly remember my information from the first time I tried to order from them so all I can say is that I believe that I gave them plenty of time but I can’t prove it, so I can’t call them on anything (Ah well). Also I was looking at cosplay.com and I see some things that might work so we’ll see and I’m also looking at that fetish site and I don’t think anything from there will work. But, thanks for going looking for me!
In addition I am so sorry they are giving you the run around that really sucks for you especially now so close to the con. :(

My one issue with it is the fact that it's layered... I don't remember June's hair offhand, but I don't recall it being anything but a straight cut. Perhaps if you straightened it though, it'd look fine. ^^

BTW, I'm going to be heading to the costume shop with Dan tomorrow... do you want me to call you if I see anything? (I don't think I have your cellphone actually... hnn)

Your right June's hair is not layered, but she also doesn't wear vinal ^_^ so there's that. And yes if you could call me that would be great! My cell is 203-605-3130 but it no big if nothing works ;)

there are a whole bunch of wig shops in New Haven. not sure what youre looking for exactly..but there is also a place in hamden..well..the one in hamden was there years ago..not sure if it still is but it was right near the walmart. but yea..you could def. get the wig faster in a shop than online ^_^ and no shipping! but again..not sure what you're looking for exactly.

Thanks but most of the CT wig shops only carry wigs for people who wear them all the time so the cost of their wigs is hundereds of dollars, which is so very out of my price range. But, if you know of one that for sure has wigs that aren't crappy halloween one or the other extreme that I mentioned, let me know. ;)
