What goes on behind the scene in Dungeon World? I mean, what's driving things the way that fronts and threats are pushing the story in AW?

I have not actually read the game, so I can't say for certain, but I got the definite impression that the game includes MC Moves, Threats, and Fronts similar to those in AW but geared towards dungeon crawling. However, the AW world principles (make your move but don't say it's name, address yourself to the characters not the players) seemed to be in effect in DW, so there wasn't any obvious transparency in that regard. I have access to the beta draft of the rules now, so once I've gotten to look through it I'll come back and confirm if I'm right or wrong about this.

Yes, a quick flip-through of the beta confirms that DW has it's own versions of MC Moves, Threats (called Dangers), and Fronts (divided into Campaign Fronts and Dungeon Fronts).

Oooh, that divide between Campaign and Dungeon fronts is interesting. Cool! I shall look out for further developments.

Your description of our impromptu game of G/E is tone perfect, Lukas. Great fun and one of my top three gaming sessions for the con. I am chagrined I've waited this long to take it out for a spin and am eager to play it again soon. Three cheers for John Harper!!
