These are pretty phrasings.

'We're almost there, Alice repeatedly thought.' But this is the whole story. Why? Why must it end? Even this second and third and fourth ending - I think I began to hurt right here, when I knew.

A lovely, wrenching little walk through sunlight and torment. Life and death. Your obsession with these endings is just so pretty and moving here. Thank you for posting this.

YOU NEED TO GET THIS PUBLISHED!

If this story is ever turned into a movie, it would be one of the most bittersweet and tear-jerking movies ever. And I would watch it over and over again. Just like how I'm reading this story repeatedly.
