Yeah, for periods of time, Brian and I would have to go there every week to hand out fliers, put up posters, talk music business, or just to go see a good show if we weren't playing. It will be missed.
Yeah, Ben really did hold that place together. They had problems with people that ran it which caused Ben to jump ship followed by Ian later on. The people that own Rebel are the same people that own Webster Hall, so they had all the money they wanted to do all the remodeling. It's just that attendance was low for the goth-industrial night after the constant show bookings ended with Ben leaving. Also, moving the night from Saturday to Friday didn't help things along with the Rebel owners eventually making the place 21 and up. Rebel is still there, but there is no goth-industrial night now. Psyclon 9 is still playing there in March, I believe, since that's w/ Mushroomhead and through the people that run Rebel. As far as the ol' Limelight, I'd heard they were making it into a mall.
