not fun...

I got a phone call that my grandma died this morning... it was the first time i've cried in a long time.  The funeral isn't until NEXT Saturday... what the fuck are we supposed to do until then?  This death thing is not cool... and I can't stand the thought that this is only the begining, and that everyone is going to die, and that it's inevitable ( Read more... )

my thoughts will be with you and your family...

we had the same thing happen a few weeks ago when my grandma died - everybody met my cousin's new baby at his great-grandmother's funeral... bittersweet, but boy did that baby light up the room!

it's tough, yes, but I think that especially seeing the miracle of new life in action brings the whole cycle of life & death into better perspective... It's just the way it is; balance is achieved, as painful as it is sometimes.

How sweet are you?? Thank you for the thoughts... and yes, I'm sure baby George will light up the room, and definitely put the life/death scenerio into perspective. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear that AMO. My grandmother died very recently, which was the first real relative close to me to go in my family. Its a very strange feeling and certainly does set a lot of wheels of thought in motion. Both our grandmothers, apparently, we suffering terribly so the death was not so much of shock, but a way to release them.

Its interesting though, as non-religious as I am, a close death certainly made me contemplate religion a lot more. If you feel like chatting, call me or whatever... its still fresh in my mind.

*hugs and hot bar b que*

Jordan, I bet you and I would have a lot to share about this... it definitely has made me contemplate religion more and understand how people came up with that silly notion (religion) in the first place:) We should get together sometime soon!
