Back from vacation with tons of pictures to sort through, and stories and recommendations from the northern half of Italy.  But for right now I have a question.

What kind of shoes do you ladies wear every day?  I'm a daily wearer of the Dansko Professional but I'm getting tired of a) how bulky and heavy they are, b) how much I turn my ankle in them ( Read more... )

I look forward to delicious tales from Italy.

On shoes:

I've been wearing these all summer.

I also have a pair of special edition Jeffrey Campbells sort of like these, with a higher heel, and in blue.

And I pair of these, in crocodile. I wore them with everything last winter.

Mmm, I like those little Jeffrey Campbell not-flats. Very cute!

For boots I find myself leaning towards a tougher design, for whatever reason (possibly that I don't have to dress for an office). Like... these. Rawr!

I love Naturalizer shoes. I think they do a great job combining nice style with incredibly comfortable insoles and leathers. I found a few cute styles on Zappos:
Kitten-heel mary janes Those also come in black and brown suede and gray leather.
wedge-heel mary janes I have a pair of open-toed shoes with the same heel base, and they are fantastic walking shoes. Super-comfy.
Cute 2" pumps with a double-strap, also in black suede and leather.
They also have several styles of cute little sporty skimmers, like these.

You'll recognize mine, because I've worn them to work almost daily for five years (three different pairs), and to 80 or 90% of formal and semi-formal social occasions.

Via Spiga shoes seem to fit me, and these fit me really really well, and they're wide-heeled enough that I don't totter when hauling a giant file briefcase but cute and curvy enough that I can feel, at least, not totally lacking in style. And they go with effing everything.

I actually can't find a picture because they haven't made them in, oh, five years or so (found my second pair on ebay and my third, amazingly, at goodwill) -- but these look comparable. The heel on mine is chunkier, and the toe a wider round.
