Ok, so after my latest reread of the series I've been harboring a massive crush on Costis, and while watching old Eurovision clips I came to the conclusion that if they ever need an actor to play Costis it should be (maybe a younger version of) Sakis Rouvas. I can sort of see it, except HE'S NOT IN UNIFORM!
...anyway, a while ago I was looking up all the characters' names on wikipedia, and saw that all these guys named Konstantinos or Constantinos were nicknamed Costis/Kostis/Kostas/Costas. It is extremely cool, very very. And this and your Galen entry reminded me that I've been meaning to do a Sounis post about all the characters' names and possible significances. Yup.

Yes, no uniform sadly. But he WAS in the military, so he has that going for him. Poor guy had a miserable time though, I don't think he has Costis' ambitions for captain or anything.
YES, please please please share info on names!!!! I googled Eugenides, and I knew about Galen and Helen, but this Costis thing was new 'till I researched Sakis. I love stuff like that and would be interested to hear about any other names you know.
