A Tric up my sleeve [for loves_thedark]

Luke had spent most of the day worrying about Dan and Peyton. Peyton coming to town a few days ago had been quite the surprise. He still hadn't spoken to her. She had woken up Libby and that was enough. She even dodged Brooke's calls. He spent three days in a cocoon emerging only for breakfast. It was no way to live and Lucas couldn't help but feel ( Read more... )

Libby wore the one nice dress she'd packed. It was red and strapless, perfect for a night in a club. She left her hair down and had labored over straightening it. It had taken forever, it always did, but she was happy with the results. She had on heels that made her at least as tall as Lucas. "I think we need to let loose," he replied, turning forward but already missing having his eyes on her. The drive was filled with small talk and glances out the window. It wasn't the stuff of legends but then, Luke wondered if he'd ever experience that again.

He parked close and climbed out of the car at the same time as Libby. The line was long but that was one thing about being Lucas Scott [or for that matter, Brooke Davis, Peyton Sawyer, Millicent, Mouth, Skills, Nathan, or Haley], he could bypass the line.
