It's absolutely not about your writing; nor is it about people enjoying your writing. After all, there is a reason why you ended up in Tribe Six, even if being in that tribe may have been your ultimate downfall ^_^ There's the socialisation aspect, there's the pimping vs non-pimping aspect, there's the n00b aspect and there's the scary tribe aspect, and they all combine to elimination meaning nothing other than bad luck.
I can definitely understand that, as someone who has only just scraped by since the new tribe structure. After following the competition last year, I had not expected to be hanging on for my life from week four onwards, and it's been a bit of a shock to the system that it's turned out this way.
The last time I looked at the polls there was a seven-way tie for last place in Tribe 7, and I was in a three or four-way tie for second to last in my tribe. The other tribes were also running neck and neck. I've followed a few previous seasons and I never remember anything happening like that before so early on. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing.
I will miss you and I promise you you are out because not enough people read your entry. I read and try to comment on every entry--i start reading the first night and yours was in a class higher than quite a few. I am sorry to see you go, but I will catch your writing (don't stop) on your journal.
I'm pretty sure not having enough people reading my entry also had a lot to do with it. It's difficult, especially when you're new and you don't know a lot of people. I really do admire your determination to read every single one!
Well I'm annoyed. But you knew that anyway. And now I've got to explain 50/50 to a dyspraxic six year old Looking at the results, it's difficult to avoid the conclusion that someone was trying to get her out.
I'm glad I found a new friend out of the whole thing - you know exactly how close I came to elimination this round.
I think that n00bs have a fairly tremendous disadvantage, because no matter how good our writing is, there are people who are at least as good out there who also have a strong following. It's tough to compete. I don't think anyone is voting based solely on that factor, but we'd be kidding ourselves if we don't consider it.
Then, you factor in the tribes being based on votes and well . . . this is when having a strong start is a disadvantage.
I also think some of it is circumstantial. Last week's subject didn't really grab me and I think it showed, so I suffered in the polls. However, it obviously worked for some, and their results reflect that.
In short: it sucks that you got eliminated - it was like punishment for being good enough to get into the heavily competitive tribes.
Well, considering we were -- and you still are -- in heavy-hitting tribes, that IS a compliment to both of us!
It would be so easy for me to go nuts about this with conspiracy theories and whatnot. I'm not even going there this time. I just want to write. If it takes me somewhere, that's great. If not -- well, at least there are people who will read what I post :)

If anything, I think she's done a hell of a job with all this. For a kid her age, she's been pretty amazing :)
