1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
I moved across the country for another person. I lived with my boyfriend. I got a job in my "career field". I bought a car.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I think my only resolution was to stop biting my nails. I got gel acrylics, which remedied the problem.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.
5. What countries did you visit?
Just this one.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
The will to weigh a certain weight; acceptance into graduate school; the ability to exist without needin' a boyfriend.
7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
The day I flew back to New York, the day we went to MOMA, stayed until the doors closed, and I realized why I loved livin' there. The day I moved to Austin was beautiful and surreal. The day my now ex-boyfriend tried to leave Austin without telling me. FYI! The signs your boyfriend is tryin' to leave without telling you: he begins packing his suitcases; he acts very weird; he is very defensive when you ask why he's packin' suitcases; you have to call his most hated enemy over to your house to knock some sense into him. FYI! Why you need to dump your boyfriend: he tries to move out without tellin' you the day before your Very First Important Job starts; he keeps you up until 2AM being upset then you go to work at 8:30AM the next day; your boyfriend spends four weeks moping around, not supporting you, never doing his dishes or cleaning, then buys a plane ticket without telling you. Merry Christmas! I would rather not see you for at least two years.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Moving out of a town that stunted my growth for two and a half years; receiving three job offers in one week; losin' major boy baggage (150 pounds worth); finally workin' at a job that stimulates me!
9. What was your biggest failure?
I could say failing at a relationship, but that wasn't my fault. See #7 above.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No. I think I finally moved beyond the gettin' every cold in the world, post-mono phase.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't buy it but I inherited a rabbit fur coat from my Mama!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My little sister. For sure. For certain.
Also, my friend Dave has supported and helped me more than he'll ever know.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Oh definitely Thomas. No question.
14. Where did most of your money go?
I was consciously unemployed for six months. 'Nuff said.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Moving to Austin, starting my job, loving Thomas every day.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier in a sense. I was insanely happy last year about bein' with Thomas, but now I'm happier about myself not a boyfriend. This kind of Happier is Better.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner by a mile. Or, well, thinner by ten pounds.
iii. richer or poorer? Poor. Holy fuckin' shit am I poor. I'm never goin' out again. I'm makin' all my Christmas presents. I'll probably have zero dollars for the rest of forever.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Oh, wow. Nothing. I saved a lot of pennies, I dieted a lot, I loved Thomas more than I thought possible, jesus, I'll just say I wish I made the bed more often.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
I cannot regret this year. I have grown up an incredible amount. I will always say drinking and eating treats. Oh, wow. I just realized I only slept with one person the entirety of 2010. That makes me a little bit proud.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
At home with my parents.
22. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Not any love I wasn’t already in. I also fell out of love.
23. Did your heart break in 2010?
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I have never been so disappointed in someone else's behavior in my entire life. Christ, that little 24-year old boy is the saddest, silliest person I've yet known.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Oh, ha ha. Jersey Shore, Mad Men.
25. Where were you when 2010 began?
At a U.S.E. show in Seattle. I was blacked out. I don't even remember kissing Thomas, but he said it happened.
26. Who were you with?
I was with Thomas, Dave, Dave's date (can't remember her name), Dane, Spencer, Molly, etc.
27. Where will you be when 2010 ends?
I'm not sure yet. Probably in Austin. I will not be blacked out this year. I will not kiss anyone this year.
28. Who will you be with when 2010 ends?
I'm the only confirmed attendant.
29. What was the best book you read?
I read everything Ellen Gilchrist wrote and loved almost every book. I'm desperately trying to finish Justine but don't have enough free time. That could be the best book I'll read in 2010.
30. What was your greatest musical discovery?
It wasn't a new discovery but Nicki Minaj gets me. Oh, ha ha.
31. What did you want and get?
I wanted to grow up, move on with my life, I wanted to be someone better than I was in Seattle. And I am.
32. What did you want and not get?
I wanted a mature, confident, satisfied partner that supported me.
33. What was your favorite film of this year?
I don't think I saw a single movie in the theater. Woops!
34. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 24. I went to Dallas with Thomas and we ate a lot of cherry pie at my parent's house.
35. How many different states did you travel to in 2010?
Washington, Oregon, New York, Texas, New Mexico. So, five.
36. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
What the fuck can I wear to stay the coolest? What the fuck can I wear to stay the warmest?
I also fit into Size 2 jeans for the first time ever so now I wear 'em a lot.
37. What kept you sane?

I hate this question.

Oh, c’mon!
40. How many concerts did you see in 2010?
I saw El Perro Del Mar and it was uh-mazing. I also saw Thomas's band play and every set was exactly like the last. Oh, geez, I sound bitter and callow but seriously. Every set sounds the same. I don't have to see 'em ever again. Hurraz!
41. Did you have a favorite concert in 2010?
Oh my god. The night I saw El Perro Del Mar in Seattle. I will remember that night my entire life.
42. Who was the best new person you met?
I met a zillion new people in Austin. For the sake of this survey: Denise, Michelle, Ciara.
43. Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
Oh, yes.
44. What was your most embarrassing moment of 2010?
I remember very distinctly audibly farting at work one time back in March or April. It still stings.

If you love someone then let 'em know. If they don't return it then fuck 'em.

46. What are your plans for 2011?
I have to stay at this job until November. In April or May I'm applying to an MLIS program in New York. If everything goes according to plan then I'll go next spring. I can't stop thinking 'bout this. I want it now!
