Just a random thought...

Why is there a problem with male nurses?
What exactly is the issue there?

social stereotypes...

Nursing is a form of nurturing, a peice of the female social construct. Men aren't suposed to be making others feel better and heal, they're supposed to be out slaughtering wild beasts with pointy sticks!

Besides the fact that I find it annoying that people judge men for being nurses, there's the simple fact that people always say, "He's a male nurse" (just like they say, "he's a male model"). Uh, yeah, I got the "male" part from the choice of pronoun.

Theres also the idea that theres more chance that a male nurse is going to 'take advantage' of a patient then a female nurse.
There may be a small amount of evidence for this, but theres a hell of a lot of training involved, so the chances are, if a guy wants to be a nurse then I say 'let them'. There aren't enough as it is, at least in the UK...
