SUPERHERO NAME: Black Rose Witch. She'll not really want to use it though She's not a witch, she's not, she's not...
ALTER EGO: Aki Izayoi....elementary school student. It's a full-time job.

BACKGROUND:
Five thousand years ago, a powerful Peruvian civilization had called on the powers of the distant Dragon Star to aid them against the evil death deities known as the Earthbound Gods. According to legend, it sent the Crimson Dragon down to seal them into the Earth. As a sign of its promise to protect humanity, it sealed its powers into five marks signifying a body part onto the arms of five people, who became known as Signers. These Signers also became the holders of the Crimson Dragon's servants, creatures known as the Five Dragons. Their job was to protect the Earth and summon the Crimson Dragon once more should the Earthbound Gods arise. As a result the Signers were reborn through various lives, all of them signified by the red marks on their arms.

In the year 20XX, the city of Neo Domino was split in two by a mysterious catastrophe called Zero Reverse, that killed hundreds of thousands. Though the official explanation was that it was an earthquake, the truth was that a door to the underworld had been opened by a servant of one of the Earthbound Gods by overloading the city's Momentum energy system. The people in charge of the Public Security Maintenance Bureau, the city's police force, were well aware of this, as was the only survivor of the team, a scientist named Rex Godwin; only Rex knew the true identity of the culprit and was also the holder of a severed arm which bore a Signer mark, an indication that the other Signers were to awaken soon and a battle would occur. In order to prevent the chaos that might ensue from an attack by the Earthbound Gods, the two halves of Neo Domino City were kept apart. While the area where the door to the underworld was and suffered the most damage from Zero Reverse was kept poor and tightly patrolled, the city proper thrived and became a utopia.

One of the people implied to be involved with the efforts of maintaining this uneasy situation was Hideo Izayoi, who was a city senator. He was constantly busy as a result of his work, and ended up not being able to spend much time with his wife, Setsuko, and his young daughter, Aki, who was born the year of Zero Reverse and also idolized him. Gradually he was unable to find time even to celebrate her sixth birthday, which he had promised to do. The very next day, he ended up having to break his promise of dueling her with her birthday present, again because of her work, which caused Aki to become upset and run away from him, saying she hated her father.

Finally, after a month of absence, it is implied that Aki's father finally had that duel with Aki. Unfortunately, in the middle of the duel he recieved a phone call calling him to work, and he began to tell Aki he had to leave. However, Aki had already figured out what the phone call was about, and to spite him she continued the attack she had started for her duel turn. The result was sudden and shocking - the card not only attacked, it spit out fire and threw Hideo into the wall, leaving a gaping man-sized hole in it. As the flames died down, Aki's right arm glowed brightly, and the mark of the Front Claw of the Crimson Dragon appeared - revealing her as one of the Signers.

Such a revelation wouldn't come until much later in Aki's life; when Aki was six, the sudden appearance of this mark was frightening. The simultaneous appearance of confusing powers which no other person on Earth, much less another Signer, had did not help. Scared and confused, Aki tried to ask her father to help her, but her father, injured by the duel, told her to stay back, commenting that with that power she was almost like some kind of monster. Hideo regrets saying that immediately and tries to apologize, but it only made Aki cry bitterly, triggering the belief that her father hated her. The fact her mother didn't come over to help her either, but rather stayed back to help Hideo.

After her abilities awoke, Aki quickly became isolated from other kids, only increasing her sadness and anger at a rapid pace - and, as a result, her power. She became withdrawn and started using her powers against people who hurt her; in at least one instance she brought forth duel monsters to chase away the kids taunting her, resulting in injuries. This once earned her a slap in the face from her father, which she took as being another sign that she was being punished for not being normal. Again she was reduced to tears. Her parents were at a loss of what to do with her, especially her father, and she began to hate her parents even as she craved their acceptance. However, once her father referred to her as a monster, it seemed impossible, especially as her powers began to spiral out of her control at such a young age - powers that would one day make her infamous as the Psychic Duelist Black Rose Witch.

PERSONALITY:
This Aki is first and foremost a little girl. She possesses a simpler mind than most people, not being able to see the grays of situations very well. Good is good, bad is bad. She's still innocent enough to be lured into doing bad things without realising what's going to happen if she does do them. She's the kind of child who plays with dolls and likes pink frilly things, hugs and attention. In other words, on the outset she's like any other little girl.

Underneath her childishness, however, are the seeds of what will be the part of her personality known as Black Rose Witch. Aki has a great deal of anger, resentment, guilt and sadness, all stemming from the day her father called her a monster. This sadness dominates most of her personality, as all she wants is companionship, love, and most importantly for her parents to love her. Rejection makes her upset, and when she's upset she has a trigger-hair reaction to lash out, and her powers always manifest in some way. She's unable to control them, unable to find anyone who understands her, and as a result shows violent tendencies whether she wants to or not. Always afterward she feels guilty about what she's done, but without anyone to reassure her or help her, her sadness only increases, and thus her powers increase.

Currently her powers are proportionate to the dark emotions fermenting in her mind, but also, because she still equates love to the love of her parents, the two main people in her life, her anger also coincides with the treatment of her parents (mainly her father) towards her and her memories of them, with these powers strengthening primarily as the familial relationship deteriorates.

POWER:
Summon Monsters/Psychic Duelist: Aki's main power, which she cannot control, is the psychic ability to summon Duel Monsters from her deck to life, usually with her Duel Disk; if they are under a specific level (in this case, level 4 and one at a time), she can summon them directly without the aid of a disk. When summoned, they can attack people or places with their powers when (normally) ordered by Aki when they are within a vicinity of 10-15 feet, and for a duration of several minutes. She is unable to stop her monsters from attacking when they are brought to life, as her power is, at this stage, motivated mainly by her anger, hurt, sadness and loneliness. Because of the nature of this power, Aki is different from all other people, even from her fellow Signers, as she is the only one capable of bringing duel monsters to life through her own will and not through magic. Currently Aki is armed with the deck that she would become (in)famous for, the Black Rose deck.

Telekinesis: Aki has the ability to move objects with her mind. More specifically, she has the ability to fling people and things across the room with little to no gentleness until they are plastered to the wall. This is mainly because she has no control over this power either, since it only comes out when she's upset or angry.

[CHARACTER SAMPLES]
COMMUNITY POST (FIRST PERSON) SAMPLE: [For several minutes, there is only one sound that comes onto the comm: the sound of sobbing. The person making it clearly indicates that it is a small child crying. Finally, the child speaks, in Japanese, though not directly into the comm. Thus, the voice is slightly muffled as it sniffles.]

Mama...papa...where am I?

I don't like this place, it's scary!

[There is no response. The crying becomes more pronounced as the minutes go by. The child again speaks, becoming louder, more upset as the minutes go by.]

Papa...papa...Why did you send me away!?

[The sobbing voice suddenly becomes angry through the tears and the sniffling.]

Because I'm a monster!? Papa!

[A commotion happens after this. There is the sound of someone older coming over, going "little girl, come on, get up" with an annoyed voice, followed by the child - the girl - letting out a startled cry, followed by a thud, then the English voice going "stop that! I'm not going to hurt you--" The older person's voice is suddenly drowned out by a humming sound, followed by sounds of something like the snapping of something cardboard. There is a WHRRR, followed by....a very angry roar.]

Go away! LEAVE ME ALONE!!

[The older person's voice manages to come through briefly, as "OH MY GOD" and a retreating scream. Then several dozen other screams. And finally, the very loud sound of a car being overturned and smashed, it's alarm going off like crazy. The roaring sound continues, people screaming in all directions, a fire hydrant being ripped out of its spot and water spraying everywhere. Through all of this commotion, the girl's sobbing and pleading continues.]

Papa! I want to go home! Let me go home!

Please...

LOGS POST (THIRD PERSON) SAMPLE: It was art class for Aki's first grade class. The assignment was to draw family and friends. And the small pink-haired girl was hard at work with her crayons. There were two colors in particular she was using, to the point where she has to rip the paper covering off in order to properly finish her project. It was clear she knew exactly what she wanted to draw.

"Aki?" She feels the teacher hovering over her as she scribbles. "Maybe you want you use other colors for yourself and...what is that?"

Aki turns around and gives the teacher a small glare at the question. Gulping, the teacher steps back, rightfully assuming that Aki saw that question as an insult. Quickly the teacher rephrases the question with who, not what.

"My friend." The reply is firm. "Black Rose Dragon."

The teacher is about to ask about the parents, but decides against it, leaving Aki to her own devices. It was better she did. Aki knows this. She doesn't like talking about her parents, not after what happened. Even though, deep down, she wants them in her picture, she only knows that one word her father said. That one terrible word that made her realize her father really did hate her, that she was a bad little girl that no one liked or loved.

No, her parents wouldn't want to be in a picture with her. So Aki picks up the greens and blues of her imaginary sky and fields, and scribbled in the rest of the picture, leaving no room for others aside from herself and Black Rose Dragon to be in it. Last, but not least, she writes her name in black.

No family for Aki. No one liked being related to a monster.
