First Dream

Dec 11, 2010 04:19

Warnings: Nongraphic animal death, violence, heavy symbolism, drama CD/Nagi backstory spoilers, symbolic Weiss Kreuz Gluhen spoilers
Effects (optional): Intense hatred for humanity, physical pain later on
Note: It's written in third person, but the dream itself is in first person perspective. Everything is through Nagi's eyes.

He steps into a large, old, neglected church, two graves visible just to the left, but Nagi doesn't pause in front of them long enough to let the names come into view. Whoever they belong to, though, the markers seem relatively new. As he walks closer to the altar, large kittens come at him from somewhere and one by one the ground shakes, Nagi moves his hand, and they sharply meow once and fall to the ground, dead from some unseen injury. Three come in the first wave, followed by two more, the last being especially oversized. That one dies slower, bones audibly snapping several times before it collapses.

Just before Nagi reaches the altar, where a bell now appears, a tiger breaks through the stained glass window. Everything shakes around him -- even the air seems to change -- and the tiger's first pounce bounces off an invisible shield. It buys Nagi enough time to grab the bell and ring it furiously, as if that'll be enough to make the tiger back off somehow. The next pounce knocks him off balance, sending the ceramic bell down to shatter against the ground an instant before Nagi lands on top of it. He cries out and lashes out at the tiger with his power again, knocking it back bit by bit. It growls, once again trying to get on top of Nagi and finish him off. Nagi looks down at his arm, dripping blood from the bell bits, and shoves the tiger away once again. It looks like he's about to finish off the tiger once and for all when one of of the dead kittens manages to come back to life and merges with the largest corpse from earlier. Noticing that creature is enough to make both Nagi and the tiger retreat; Nagi steps back, away from the kitten bodies while the tiger leaps out the window he came through, disappearing as fast as he'd appeared.

[Nagi remains asleep even after the dream ends. He won't notice this or reply until he's awake.]

[OOC: Brief notes for any characters who'd notice these details - the first three dead kittens were a Bombay, a Balinese, and an Abyssinian. The second set were a Manx and a large Persian. It's a Siberian tiger and the zombie kitty at the end was the Bombay, fusing with the Persian. Replies will come once I have slept!]
