If you see a concert outside of Michigan (or presumably at some great distance away) you get charged a distance fee, because the further you have to go the more it should cost is my guess. Here's an equation where X is distance and Y is a set radius from where you buy the ticket: if X > Y = more $.

Well, it's cheaper than the money you'd spend on gas...? To drive there to get the ticket before you drive there for the show?

I don't understand what you mean. I've never been charged a distance fee, and I see concerts in Ohio.
