But could a Sandwich Artist please make it

Dec 15, 2006 09:07

So, every morning I have a bagel from this one bagel place right around the corner. Across the street from that is another bagel place that I'll get a sandwhich at from time to time, for funzies, and they have a pretty solid selection of juices. I was just going to get some welch's grape juice this morning from my breakfast bagel place, but in ( Read more... )

I wonder if his strategy is to keep the weight fluctuating a bit, so if he needs to, he can do more commercials to show how Subway makes him lose weight. Like maybe in his next commercial it'll show him at a McDonald's going, "Hamburger. Cheese." And then show him at a Subway, going "Six inch veggie, no cheese." With a significant difference in weight. That would be a really lame commercial.

I'm fine with him having a hamburger from time to time, I'm not trying to imply that he gourges himself or that he's belimic (We should look into that one) but it's very funny to me that he'd have a cheeseburger and a coffee for breakfast. He knows what he's doing, I suppose.

That's true. If I were him I would be very defensive about ordering anything unhealthy.

me/jared: (whispering) Hamburger. Cheese.
cashier: I'm sorry, what was that?
me/jared: HAMBURGER. CHEESE. WHAT?

I'm just picturing you doing this and it's pretty hysterical to me as your hand resting on your chest, as if you're a southern bell.

Lookin' Good, Jared! daytripper83 December 15 2006, 21:16:58 UTC
I don't know if I ever told you this story, but I had a brief conversation with Jared Subway guy at an afterparty in Indianapolis. There were a bunch of fledgling musicians in the room who would someday be kind of famous, but Subway Guy was the most popular guy, fame-wise, by far. It was hilarious.

He graduated from IU, and a professor I had at the time once had him as a student. The conversation was short lived, because, other than our love for Subway, that is all we had to talk about.

Well, if you got to know them, then maybe they wouldn't be numbers and you'd discover that you're still the only one who hasn't met Jared.

I wanted to talk to him, but didn't care too much, I was on the clock all ready. I did really want to get my picture with him, but had no camera. What kind of finger food was he eating?

I bet he does this on purpose when he gets recognized in a non-subway restaurant. Instead of people seeing him and just sort of casually mentioning it to their friends, he orders a philly cheese steak, fully knowing that people will be more interested if he gives them a pinch of blog-ready irony.

Jerod is a fucking (slim little) genius.

He seems like the type, really. I have a great fear that I've misused the word "type," but that's because I can't spell, and am too lazy to check these sorts of things. Also, I noted that if the camera adds ten points, he certainly added that himself, as he looked just like himself on television.

What gets me is that if he really wanted to streamline his order, he could have just said "cheeseburger."

yeah, that's the humor of this situation. any non-freak would have just said cheeseburger.

...I still think that he's a freak. If nothing else, forgetful.

My coworker pointed out to me that he could be so used to ordering at subway, as there you have to say what sandwich you want the artist to create, then tell them that you want cheese on it, but...
