tableSummary: Draco was serpentine...
Draco slithered into Luna's life like the snake he was. He destroyed things in his path including people and souls. But Luna couldn't help but be intrigued. Her mind screamed for her to distance herself from his man, this snake, this serpent, but she couldn't. Her body was drawn to him, being pulled by an invisible force that she couldn't resist.
Draco seemed to know. He seemed to relish on her inability to resist his sly charm. His silver eyes glinted with a knowledge and satisfaction.
Luna pushed him away, pulling her heart out. It was unbelievable. It was indescribable and ridiculous the way her heart longed for him after they parted. It was as if his sarcasm and clever humor had actually become part of her soul; his silver eyes and lithe body part of her own body.
They were one, but she didn't want that.
She wanted to be free to believe in nargles and snorlacks.
Draco only believed in goblins and ghosts. The things he had witnessed in his own life.
He made it impossible to be herself, but still, he was part of her. He had claimed a part of her that she just couldn't get back. She didn't want it back. Despite his limited beliefs, he did not try to limit her.
Watching him from afar she sighed heavily. She didn't want this distance. She wanted him to be close to her, to feel his arms wrapped around her. She wanted to feel his breath on her skin and his heart beating beneath her hand as she rested it on his chest.
She wanted him.
Luna was surprised she was so attached to such a man, but then again, he challenged her. He never laughed outright at her believes, but merely had a disbelieving and laughing look in his eyes. It was maddening how receptive he seemed to be, and yet he never quite grasped her ideas. He just accepted they were part of who she was, and he accepted her, what he would call crazy ideas and all. He made her become a better person by just being around her, and she made him a better person in return. He told her that, ripping her heat out like the snake he was when he did.
The feelings coursing through her were serpentine, attacking her with slyly, and they controlled her. When her feet began to move toward him, approaching him with ease and grace, she knew the snake was going to win, and she didn't mind in the least.
