I hear everything you say
As you scream it in my ear
Trying to tell me how to feel
And how to think and
Who to be and the secret
To my everchanging life

But I found my purpose
Without heeding your words
Since those words are yours
And don't have the same
Meaning or unflinching truth
To me or in my life as you
