I don't know why this is such a common mistake, but it is. It's not like the words are even that similar in meaning!

I have a high school friend who I keep tabs on/communicate with only via LJ (like ya do) and she makes this error EVERY TIME. I don't think she even knows there exists the word "lose". But I don't want to point it out cuz she'll be all, "lol wutever"...

May I add that I also get annoyed at "your next"...my next what? OH, you mean I am next.

So who's glasses were they? (that's another one I see sometimes. ugh.)

How did these people get past third grade? Then fourth grade? Fifth grade? Did nobody stop them before handing out diplomas?
