he tasted of burnt coffee and cigarettes and i loved that. When he laughed, his eyes sparkled a deep jade green. He never said much and just let me ramble on about absolutly nothing. personally, I don't think this is the place to discuss this (not what you wrote but what I have to share)... but I can say with not hint of doubt that I feel your pain. I really have been there, and this isn't about comparison just saying that it's not something that goes away and I hear you about the promises you tell yourself you will keep. touching none the less. It's amazing how people at a young age can be more profound than english literature professors at a four year university. At 19 your friend had a perspective on life that included the two focal points of it, the beginning and the end, sounds like he knew what was important :)

i did love it....

We listened to the same music and had the same ideas on religion, but never worried too much about them.

i dont know why, but that line stuck out to me
