Rachmaninoff was mentioned in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. If you point out the scene, you get a lollipop. Or a hug, whichever is present when I see you next.

You can't cheat and watch the movie either.

I know which scene you're talking about. It's the door with the keyboard-lock thing. He plays the melody, and the door unlocks. The someone's mom, I forget whose, recognizes the tune and says "Rachmaninoff."

*Watch me be a dick!*
There's a whole other level to that scene, also. I'm not sure if you know this or not.

Ms. Teavee is the one who names the tune, but she gets it wrong, being a pompus know-it-all. While she thinks it's Rachmaninoff, it's really the intro to Mozart's Overture to the Marriage of Figaro. The Mel Stuart (director) soon realized that the joke ended up sailing over everyone's heads, and he regretted that he didn't have Mrs. Teavee mislabel a more familiar tune, like Beethoven's 5th, instead.

I learned that while reading a random book on the production of Willy Wonka while in Disneyworld a few months ago. I finally get to put pointless trivia to good use!

I just remember it being referenced in Willy Wonka. Mitchell, you can't use that for another whole.. year.

I actually don't care that much.
