WOW. That quote is ridiculous. She is a dumb bitch. You pretty much said everything that I was going to say after I read that. Why are people so naiive? How can some people be so hypocritical? What the hell..

Did you read that news article I posted a little while ago? It's funny how often people contradict themselves all the time.

i actually read some of the bible the other day. the story about sodom and lot and most of leviticus. it was seriously hilarious. how people have used the bible as their moral backbone for millenia is beyond me. there's a part in genesis where abraham barters with god about how many righteous people he needs to find in sodom before destroying it, and he gets god down from 50 to 10. and god basically defers to abraham in that part of the story, then ravages those cities, then tells moses to tell people that eating animals that do not chew the cud is forbidden and that rock badgers are unclean and that someone who touches ham is unclean for seven days until they have bathed etc. it's just a bunch of five thousand year old gooblygook that has no bearing on our society at all, and yet because moses says in leviticus that man lying with man is an abomination, we have the current gay marriage problem. i hate bible-dudes because there are so many other laws they ignore. like you're not even supposed to look at a woman for a week ( ... )

Yeah exactly. People pick and choose excerpts from the bible that are advantageous to their cause, but completely ignore the stuff about slavery and selling your daughters and the uncleanliness of bleeding and menstruation and all that crazy stuff.

They also ignore the good Leviticus laws, like leaving the corners of your crop-fields uncultivated, so that people who are in need can take from it and not be humiliated. It's one of the most beautiful laws in Leviticus, and no one knows shit about it. It's about giving charity without giving it, but rather, allowing others to take it, to avoid humiliation. Out of all the laws we've discussed at Hebrew school, that one stood out to me.

Yet they just use that "man laying with man is an abomination" shit and ignore the good stuff.

I don't hate Bible dudes. I hate fake Bible dudes. Real Bible dudes see through all the bullshit and realize what's important. Fake Bible dudes use the Bible to their advantage.

Perfect.

And yeah, that Wright woman's logic is so blatantly awful and, uh, cruel. Why did she, out of all people, get quoted? I'm encountering similar stuff with pro-death-penalty peeps. FIX YOUR MINDS, PEOPLE.

i think everybody should be able to do whatever the fuck they want as long as they arent hurting anybody else. i dont get how gay marriage would bother that woman from the article. she must have a tiny brain.

She's very selfish, because she's basically saying, I have a problem with it, and since I think it's wrong, I'd rather deny a whole group of people basic rights, because it'd make me feel a little better about life and stuff.

Exactly. A lot of people feel the same way as she does, and they're all just being selfish.

..not to mention the fact that her statement is incoherent to the point where it is practically contradictory.
