Vermont was broken yesterday morning

Sometimes I ride the "red line" subway into Boston. This winter, there's a promotion for Vermont tourism in the tunnel between Harvard and Central Square station. The speed of the train causes the perceived animation of the series of photos lining the wall of the tunnel, and it warms my cockles to see scenes of folks skiing in Vermont when I look ( Read more... )

I leave in a few days. CAN'T WAIT. Busy busy busy right now with the preparations.

I will have a wee "tablet-style" computer with me to take advantage of the WiFi they seem to have everywhere, so I'll be online, even when on vacation! Might even post a few photos before I return.

When the train stopped between stations, I noticed that the lighting for the flicker-posters strobes. Previously, I had thought that the motion of the train caused the apparently 'flip-book' animation, but it seems that strobe light and train motion are necessary.

Where are you going? When are you returning?
