an old friend dies
He was a dear friend and part of my social circle in the 1970s. R.I.P. Ron Asheton.
It was great to see Iggy and the Stooges play the Orpheum in 2007. Glad that Ron was able to enjoy the admiration of many old and new fans on their recent international tours. Yet, they've been nominated six times for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and rejected. They were nominated again in 2008 and no doubt will get it this time, NOW THAT RON IS DEAD. Shows how relevant the "Hall of Lame" is. I bet Ron preferred the recognition he got from his thousands of fans, anyhow.
