Taken from a friend on dA

1. How about a brief introduction of yourself?
I go by two different handles: ampfox_ang here and kleptowerewolf on FFnet. I'm an on/off writer that rarely posts things. I've officially written for APH and sweet pool, but I have more elsewhere in notebooks and such

2. And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?
Reading, mostly. And RP with friends

3. What kind of fanfiction do you like to write?
Ones about little inspiration, be it cultural aspects or just something I see in everyday life.

4. Do you tend to write the same pairings/characters? Or are you a fandom whore?
Right now, I'm stuck in a RussiAmerica rut. It's alright, though, I like them. I've also written a little FrUK and I'd like to get to other pairings, but it's just those guys right now.

5. What is your most popular fanfic and why do you think people like it so?
Check(ed) Out. I think people like it because it's a college AU that isn't as much about the class and party aspect, even with those elements in it. It's a simple story about an exchange student making an oppuntunistic liquor run so he can flirt with a cashier. Typical situation, but the characters make it what it is. Simpler stil: Drunk Alfred.

6. Forget other people...what is the fanfic you've written that you're most proud of?
Rules. I did a little research for that one. I've always liked the Rhinelands, and I wanted to make use of her somehow. She'll show up again.

7. Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing?
Writing is quite difficult for me. It's not about finding the right words to say so much, it's about having enough passion to put it out there and overcoming the insecurity of "Maybe no one will like this." I also worry about sounding too childish in my writing and I'm often not happy with the finished product enough to consider it worthy, but people always end up proving me wrong. I also have troubles getting it to be over 1000 words in type most days unless I have hand written it at first. Writing five front to back pages is no problem because I keep pushing myself to drive the plot, but in type if I'm at the end of the second page and I feel finished, I'm done.

8. Write a few sentences or so of your favorite pairing or character.
Two white mugs were drawn from the cupboard. He looked them over with a gloved hand and set them on the counter.
"It isn't much, but I can make a little coffee to warm you up. Sorry it's so cold in here." Ivan tiredly started to paw around the pantry for that elusive can of ground coffee, peeking back every so often to get a glimpse of gold, blue, and smiles.

"Mon ami, you don't have to." The woven blanket on the couch was resting on the Frenchman's lap invitingly. "Tea will do just as well." His voice was light and gentle to the younger nation, always praising him for little things in such a harsh time of his life. He took the tin of tea leaves and put a bit into the kettle before preparing it for boiling. A slight blush creeped onto his face at a small memory of the kiss at the train station.

"Thank you for coming over. It's been a while since anyone last visited, even the others."

"It has." Francis watched the other nation concentrate on his tasks with a gentle smile, admiring how the normally frightening man was always so shy and calm with him. He never needed to turn on more charm than natural to draw him near, and he likes it that way. They don't have to put up an act to be comfortable, or bicker to have an excuse for intimacy. No, all it takes is a simple word or two and their curled in one another's arms. Again, he smiles and watches a now confused Ivan stare back at him. "Come, join me. Rest." He patted his lap and the Russian made his way to the couch, awkwardly folding his long body to fit and lying his head in the others lap. Fingers curled in his hair, massaging his scalp gently as Francis' deep voice started to lull him to sleep with soft, accented words about music, ballet, and travel. Words about nothing really, words about everything. Those words were enough to make them both forget about the screaming kettle in the kitchen in favour of a moment of peace.

(This is a few sentences. I suck at endings)

9. Are there any fanfiction trends/cliches that you're sick of?
Mpreg. I can tolerate it, but not when people use/make a character so feminine and impregnate them. They could have just used an actual girl. Also, storylines and summaries that are: "Seme gets mad at Uke and rapes him! Uke gets pregnant, what happens?!?!". Mary Sues and Gary Stus- OCs are cool and all, but Ruhr is not getting with any other nation/territory unless it is another OC nation/territory.

10. Are you guilty of any of these? Or have you committed other crimes?
I made a Mary Sue back when I did RP, but that was never published and stopped a while back. I also RP with someone who loves to make the exact type of mpreg stuff that irks me, so I put a bunch of restrictions on one character I made for it. I wrote/am writing a college AU, but people seem to like it so maybe it isn't a crime...

11. What was the first fandom you wrote for? Do you continue to like/participate in it?
D.N. Angel, I believe. I still watch it from time to time, and I read it.

12. Name your OTPs or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them that you love to write.

RussiAmerica- Where to start? These two have such a history between them, and such big clashing personalities that I can write them getting quiite violent with one another, but I can turn around and in their good times write fluff.

FrUK- about the same as the above, but with more class.

Frussia- I would like to write this some day, with a nice accent of desperation on Russia's part. I know a Frussia in real life, so that's my inspiration.

Kida/Mikado- After watching DRRR, I like how these two interact. So sweet~

Kitani/Zenya+Touji- Touji is the name I've given the child thing from sweet pool. I like to write Kitani as a guardian, but I also like how gentle the normally wild Zenya is with him.

13. What would you call your writing "style"?
Comedy/Fluff/Tease.

14. Do you read other people's fanfics? If so, what do you find yourself reading the most?
Yes. Mainly, The Chosen End and The Baffled Kind and the Idiot Hero, to name a couple. I rarely read anything other than drabbles after that because I'm a little picky, but I've got other longer stories I read too.

15. Name one thing you'd LOVE to write but haven't yet.
Frussia. Something with Lithuania, possibly LietPol even though I don't much care for it and because I wanna write Poland. Germancest avec Austria. Austria in general.

16. Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have a really bloated ego?
I have a low ego, and if somebody were to tell me that something was wrong with it I'd probably believe them. I get in inflated ego when people tell me they love it and demand more. It makes me feel accomplished.

17. When you write is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room?
A small spark, anywhere. An urge to write about whatever it may be.

18. What inspires you?
Very, very small and common things. Things that evoke a certain emotion I'd like to capture...

19. Lastly, how would you sum up your fanfiction experiences and yourself as a writer?
I'd say it helped me realize that I'm not as bad of a writer as I believe myself to be. And that sometimes, writing fanfiction with an OC couple can be a bad idea, especially when they end up as their own thing instead of what they should have been.
