Asian cabinet

I've finally finished the asian cabinet.  Finished enough to use anyway; it's meant to have some small shelves attached to the inside of the doors.    This was intended to be a short project, to replace a worn and ugly cabinet in our living room.  The casework went together in an afternoon.  But, as usual, time to work on it became short.  The ( Read more... )

Could I commission/ask you at some point to craft me a little sump'm sump'm? I just got a gorgeous wooden comb from this guy, and I would really like a case to go with it, so I can take it places and have somewhere to put it, etc.

Absolutely. I like doing custom stuff like that, as it gets me out of my usual styles and provides a challenge of doing something both functional and creative/artsy.

Can you trace it (y'know put it on a piece of paper and run a pencil around it) and send me the tracing via snail mail? I think that would work better for the kind of thing I'm imagining.

wow, that's gorgeous.

i began to love working with wood and building things, using power tools and dremels and fun stuff like that when i met brett, but the power tool set i gave him went with him so i've had to put that in the back of my mind, but it was a whole new dimension of creativity. drawing is nothing compared to thinking in three dimensions and with the added concept of functionality.

makes me appreciate your skill with woodworking that much more.
