I didn't see the film, (although I'm fairly aware of most of the issues...) and I guess the whole Guantanamo issue has deeply affected my behaviour and my view of the world, (but especially of America...).

I've always wanted to see the United States. I've wanted to see Yosemite National Park, Death Valley and San Francisco for a long while, but right now it just won't happen. I don't want to be photographed, biometrically and iris scanned, and have my data given to to CIA, FBI or whoever where I will completely lose control over it's use.

Having said this, I'd go to the quaker conference if I was you. Getting together with like minded people might just begin to change things. I'm not religious in a Christian sense, but I've always had a lot of respect for Quakers. This is mainly because of their attitudes to social change and peace.

How many snowflakes does it take to cause an avalanche? One. It just tips the balance enough to change things. Maybe you're that snowflake.
