fuente eterno www.fuenteeterno.com (which was a couple weeks ago) or elysium (http://www.elysiumfestival.org/) which is some time in july but it looks like the website hasn't been updated yet.
Elysium looks a little hippy for us. Fuente looks beautiful, but we wanted to know more about how that was working out for people. Zac has no Spanish and I only have a tiny amount, so we were concerned about legality and safety.
fuente is about 400 la burners. It might help to know some spanish to get to the location but I've never needed to use it. Once you are in the campground it is all friends and friends of friends and all of them are from the US. Elysium has a lot of the same people and it is a bit hippy but still not as hippy as Lightening in a Bottle.
We talked about, and I don't think it'll happen this year, but I do think it would be an awesome "like Burning man, but different" experience. And its always fun to hang out with you guys!
But I was thinking about how the amount we spent on Burning Man could get us to nowhere, to the Aquarium like a hojillion times, to Europe, on a cruise, and/or to Hawaii.
Or, 10% of a down payment on a house.
And I think there are significantly fewer of our friends (our friends of a similar capability level) going. And its fun to take newbies, but too many newbies and we tend to stay more responsible ourselves. So Nowhere has good peeps too.
Fourth of JuPlaya. Hands down the best burner-related event. Better than Burning Man in a lot of ways. Hot springs, driving on the playa, actually *talking* to people, Mormon crickets (sometimes, depending on the cycles), and a holy mother shit ton of fireworks and explosives.
