have realised working from home, though ace, is also driving me insane. am becoming company-hungry like a lonely cat. also finding it increasingly hard to force self to get down to anything. is renting some kind of desk / studio space the answer? don't have much money for this at all: but the amount of work i got done when emma was here painting ( ( Read more... )

nothing - i'd still be freelance / self-employed and doing the same stuff. just not HERE. i'm HERE all the time. i love my flat but it's like being in prison or something. and i am getting so sedentary. this will enable me to bike to the office and not be such a fat bastard.

Oh no, I meant you've been in your flat for a while now, has it been like this for as long as you've been there? Only I was being short because my morning routine when I have to get into work at a specific time is to wake up, reach over and use the (awkward, slow) PSP to check LJ and Gmail, rather than turn on the PC, because that's how good I am at just going on the internet for five minutes.

It's not affecting Work work, right, just 'stuff you enjoy' work?

Also don't talk to me about bikes, I got my back wheel (and block, and chain) replaced for £60 last Saturday, cycled to Bermondsey and back for a party, felt too tired/broken for more cycling on Sunday, left the bike at home on Monday, no front wheel Monday evening.

at least you have some bike left. my entire fucking bike was nicked on monday. am on phone to insurance now.

no, cabin fever takes a while to build up, and it's affecting everything.

Ah, you matchmaker you. Sadly we live a million miles apart.

I'll give you a buzz when I'm bored out of my head at bestival, btw.

I think I will be out of my head in another way. Hopefully I'll get some kind of backstage pass as I got my tickets from work and we're filming it. As we did The Big Chill, coincidentally but I am not sure they got your set.

The Big Chill looked really awful, or at least the programme did. All these 30-something Tory hippies carping on about fluffy nonsense. Gah.

Trouble is, I can't even work in the office if there's no one else in, as with the last few hours. What I need is someone to unplug the internet...

At least the internet can look like work, especially when you're typing. Today I sat next to someone who stared out of the window for three. Hours. Straight. By the clock. I think he moved his mouse four times, perhaps to stop the screensaver coming on.

At half four, he admitted to 'boredom'.
