We left at dusk. The bus rumbled out of Cairo with a movie playing, a comedy about a silly older guy who goes back to college and runs amok with his shenanigans. Then he has to get serious and study for the big test (spoiler alert: he passes, graduates, and marries his teacher at the end). The bus stopped at a military checkpoint before plunging

Where there any Egyptians on the beach? If so, what did the women wear?

"It’s coral reefs will be privatized and trampled by millions of ignorant American, German, and Russian families": Americans go to Egypt?! Don't be silly!!

"Sand will be imported from God-knows-where and dumped on the beaches, killing the coral": I doubt that will happen as the reef is what attracts people who dive...in other words...wealthy people.

oh and for dinner we had chicken and rice all wrapped up in aluminum and cooked on the fire, and some delicious cantaloupe (and i don't usually like cantaloupe)
