A wonderful time in the Big Core last weekend with flitterkit, epinephric, and maxrobbin, among many other friends--some long-lost, and some newfound. It is disturbing how quickly seven or more years can drift by without seeing a good friend; it is amazing, and wonderful, how easy it can be to pick up exactly where you left off. If there is such a thing as nostalgia without ( Read more... )

Hey, nothing at all--I'm just saying it would be nice to hang out for a bit once you got there. : )

Max is doing all right. I have no idea when he last logged in to check his journal, but he hasn't updated in a long, long time. He still checks e-mail, though; if you like, I will forward you his address.

How bizarre - I was in NYC as well, last weekend. A friend of mine was in a show at the Bowery Poetry Club, and we were going to see the new MoMA as well (but were foiled by my backpack - 'cause you know Al Quaeda (that can't be spelled right) is just itching to blow up the coat room of a museum. How pleasant to think that we passed on the street.

I miss you. We bought a brownstone in the city, rather suddenly, and if I weren't waiting for a repairman I wouldn't have a moment to check in here even yet. But I wanted you to know you were missed.

My dear . . . the feeling is certainly mutual. I was actually thinking about you the other day, and missing strongly the pleasure of your company. It is lovely to read your words again; I hope that you will be able to make a habit of it, for all it sounds as if your life is busy.

My trip was substantially less cultured than yours, though no less pleasant, I am sure. Good friends, much relaxing, and ridiculously trendy sushi to boot. In spite of myself, I did not manage to get tagged as a terror threat while in town. All the same, I am glad that no one had to rifle through my overnight bag.

I will selfishly hope that you need to call on the repairman much more often.

I want an express train that goes directly from Boston to the Natural History Museum in half an hour, with an optional detour for the Bronx Zoo.

I'd ride that train, though I've never been to the Bronx Zoo. If it stopped at the MFA on the way back, that would be nice, too. : )
