With the general "batten down the hatches! Snows acomin'" hysteria in town today I'm not surprised that they've already canceled school for tomorrow. We are New Englanders why do we constantly freak out every time a storm approaches?? Not a single flurry has fallen and already my niece is planning her sledding trip tomorrow. Hahaha, I remember that so clearly! Ichabod Crane, those pussies. If it was slightly windy, they'd have a snow day. I think I actually drove by that school once and I was like, OMG THAT'S WHERE IT IS!!! And yeah, it did look like it was in the middle of nowhere with like no buses and shit. So, maybe not such pussies after all. I'm still making fun of them, though.

I want a snow day tomorrow. Sigh.

They were out in the middle of nowhere and as Susan pointed out relied heavily on buses. Still, as kids we didn't know that.

I'm about to head outside to see what we've got...Amelia wants to go sledding but it is still coming down. She doesn't realize that you really need to wait for it to stop.

Hahaha, I know, as kids you have no clue that yeah, you really DON'T want to go out when it's still snowing hard. You'll just get cold and wet and that's just not a good time!

I remember it too! :) We would be listening to WGY - "Uncle Don, if there school today? No school? Yay!"

I think the problem with Ichabod Crane is the busses. They probaby need a lot of them on a regular basis, being a pretty spread-out district. Busses + snow = dangerous.

I have a snow day today! :D I'm going to try out Rachelle's parents' old snowblower - they gave it to us when they moved out of their house. I hope you get to go sledding with your neice. :)

As a rational adult I understand why Ichabod Crane had such a difficult time during severe weather but as I child I loathed them!

I wish out property managers would bring out the snow blower. I know they were out early this morning but it looks like they haven't been back since.
