I would think that the Johns Hopkins University Press would hire people for the Customer Service dept. that knew English.

I hear the distinction they're trying (and failing) to make as being between a) the time at which something is accessed, and b) the time of publication of what is accessed. They're saying they limit the first, but not the second.

Shouldn't that be "Their saying..."? ;)

We don't sell year long subscriptions (a period of time). We sell subscriptions that go from Jan 1 to Dec 31 (a defined time period).
