Second day

Woke up in Las Vegas. Drove down to Hoover Dam. Took the tour, which was pretty neat. Drove to Zion National Park, took a short hike up through part of the canyon. Slept under the stars at the park. Seven meteors and three satellites before I fell asleep.

meteors, that is awesome. not exactly the light pollution of coastal SoCal.

your "current location" is out in the middle of freaking nowhere. must be a wonderful view of the country from roads like that.

Sounds fantastic. I'm jealous! When I drove to S.D. in '87, my car had enough worrisome problems in high heat that I had to cancel my hoped for expedition through Zion and to the Grand Canyon (somehow needing to execute a Y turn in the middle of a tunnel in Zion to get back to the highway).
