Well, several days out and no sign of the cats yet, however I'm going to keep checking at the pound. Not sure what they would do if they wandered back as the house is no more, just a hole in the ground

Are YOU okay, though? I take it you were not near the house when it happened? Are you covered by insurance so you can find a new home? I hope the cats will turn up!

Impossible to imagine how you must be feeling, and still you call yourself lucky. Which you probably were, given the alternative.
I'm three continents away, so there probably isn't much I can do. But I keep thinking of you and your kitties.
