The Big Bang Theory Season 2 Recaplets

Eventually, I will be posting full recaps/reviews for the second season episodes. Right now, though, school is a bit hectic. Here are some recaplets to tide interested parties over until the full ones are done.

2.01 The Bad Fish Paradigm
Amber's Rating: B+

Penny's insecurities make her date with Leonard awkward. The next day, she bumps into Sheldon and admits she lied to Leonard about finishing community college. Sheldon is sworn to secrecy, but secret-keeping has never been his strong suit. In a last ditch attempt to keep quiet, he moves out of the apartment and becomes Raj's unwanted guest. Raj and Howard play Hot Potato with Sheldon until he finally winds up back at Leonard's in the middle of the night, drugged up on valium. Under the influence of the drugs, Sheldon confesses to Leonard that Penny lied. Leonard, relieved that the problem doesn't lie with him, goes over to Penny's with a flyer on community college. Penny takes offense at the suggestion that she needs a college degree to date him and slams the door in his face making the first attempt at a Penny/Leonard relationship a failure.

Initial Thoughts: Story felt very scattered, but the dialogue was hillarious. Sheldon drugged was a riot! Horray for seeing Raj's apartment and giving Raj more lines!

2.02 The Codfish Topology
Amber's Rating: B+

When the guys return from the Reinassance Fair, they bump into Penny with a new guy. Leonard claims to be happy for her and declares he's ready to move on too. Conveniently for him, Leslie Winkle has just decided she's ready to pursue a serious relationship with him. Sheldon is appalled when he discover's the identity of Leonard's new woman. He's further irritated when their dates force him out of the apartment and into the hall. Penny finds him on the stairwell and tells him that as Leonard's friend, he should support Leonard's relationship with Leslie. Sheldon takes her advice, but when he tries to tell Leonard and Leslie of his new outlook, it leads to an dispute over physics theories. When Leonard takes Sheldon's side over Leslie's, Leslie calls off the relationship and storms out. Leonard is again left all alone and Chapter 3 of the Leonard/Leslie saga is a bust.

Initial thoughts: Not as outloud funny as last week's episode, but the story was much more coherent. Raj was not in it enough, but we did get more Penny/Sheldon interaction which I adore (but not in that way). Leslie and Nintendo 64 is made of win!

Next week: Penny discovers online gaming. And likes it!
