You know what, there probably should be a douchebag clause. I think it would read something like this: "Even though you have the right to free speech, you don't need to be a douchebag while exercising it." This has nothing to do with rights. He had his rights, he exercised them, and then he became a douchebag. They had every reason and right to pull him out of there and shut him up. He was becoming aggressive and hostile in what had been, up until then, a peaceful situation.
Perhaps he was a little over dramatic... okay, a lot over dramatic, but seriously, if they'd just let the guy finish asking his question there would not have been any issue. Kerry even tried to start answering before things got completely out of control. On the other hand, the question-answer period was apparently over before he started asking his question, which explains why they turned off the mike - which seemed to be the reason he got pissed in the first place. Still, when you have 5-7 cops on one college kid armed with nothing more than a paperback book, I don't think there's any need at all to use a taser on the kid. I'm pretty sure they all had handcuffs - like cops usually do. Seems like that might have done the trick.
