This update is going to be long because I have alot to happen since my last real update.
I found out late last week that Flynn Enterprises is closing operations at the Elkton Plant effective 28-Nov-2005. This really pissed people off for the simple fact that the product was not selling. I had a lengthy conversation with one of the employees and I told him specifically the reason was the quality of the product. All the company was looking for was quanity and not quality. Also, the main reason was that Flynn Enterprises lost all contracts with the Wal-Mart Corporation (go figure). So far..the Hoptown plant will remain open until something else happens.
The search for a job has not been successful thus far because I have had other things going this week that has prevented me from doing so. I have a few leads that I am going to follow tomorrow. I figured that I could apply at a few radio stations to work as a staff announcer or go back into the grocery business.
My parent are leaving Saturday morning for three weeks. They are going to Arkansas and it is going to be me and my brother. I just found out that my brother is going to have his fluzy girfriend from Ohio at the house. Get this, he goes up there the weekend befroe last to meet the girl. He gets there and the girl stood him up. To me, if a girl stood me up, there will be hell to pay for the crime.
I cut down a tree on Friday that I have been having my eye on for several weeks. I knew one day that the thing would fall down in the road and cause an accident. So Friday A.M., the thing came crashing down (via chainsaw) like a ton of bricks. Took about four hours to cut the tree up and stack the wood up in a nice little pile.
I also found out this week that HCC has an interim president. Dr. Rogers took a eight month LOA and the interim president took over on Monday. With great hopes, this interim should be able to straighten out the damage caused (Personal Note: I wish Dr. Rogers knew what the hell she was getting into before all this trouble began with the hiring of the dean of academic affairs. Thus, the college, as well as everyone involved, has been hurt tremendously as a result of her actions).
Until Next Time ! !
