I thought I was stood up for a first date last night. Turns out I wasn't, it was just a misunderstanding and the guy didn't know I was actually going to show. Sheesh, why does dating have to be so hard

I used to keep a running list of questions like those I thought I'd ask potential new suitors, based on relationships that had gone awry in the past, like, "Are you going to start experimenting with swinging while we're together and not call it cheating?" "Have you frequented prostitutes in the past, and if so, why the hell haven't you been tested?" etc.
But the problem is, when do you actually ask those questions? If you ask at the very beginning of a relationship, it might scare the other person away, but if you wait until you're already starting to get serious, it's like you're just setting yourself up for heartbreak.

I hope your other dates go better. That guy didn't know what he was missing!
(PS - Keith and I will be in Atlanta on the 30th and will be having din-din with Glenn. You are very welcome to join us!)

The guy still wants to meet. Not sure how I feel about it - the whole thing seemed to be a big misunderstanding.
And none of these are questions you can ask and receive a reliable answer. But it sure would be good to know at the beginning, ya know?
Experimenting with swinging, eh? THAT'S nice :)
