Several posts on my flist seem to indicate this was so, but I didn't feel it. This is odd; usually I notice little quakes the rest of my family doesn't feel. The reactions seem to suggest it was a significant shake, too. Of course, the friends who mentioned it live roughly 45 minutes to an hour south of me, so maybe that's why I didn't notice it?

However, this was deep. 8.6 miles underground, if memory serves from my quick read of the USGS website. "8 miles down" is a pretty long way, for a quake... at that magnitude.
Little ones are good. Let tension out, a little bit at a time. Big ones bad...
The Landers Big Bear quake (Centered 300 yards from our family cabin) was so bad, that it flipped our 250 lb fridge upside down, and made it dance around 3 90 degree turns, and end up, holding the front door closed, cause it was leaning (against the TOP) of the front door frame. The largest piece of glassware found was smaller than a postage stamp.
Small ones are good.
