Amusingly, at lunchtime today, I responded to an IM and had five minutes worth of conversation before I realized that the original message had been in Latin...

Sad but true -- I read that fluently though I speak about 10 words of French and no Latin.

I often get the feeling that those around me speak the same language, though more slowly and with simpler words.
