Gloves! The neurology department always has the best, high-quality gloves - which of course makes everyone else at Memorial jealous. Turns out it's not Reid's doing.
Luke and Reid had another meeting with the board and the doctors of memorial. It was an important one because today they where evaluating the last year and putting their targets on for next year. It was going well. Since Reid was in charge of the hospital and the neurology wing was well on track of becoming the best known in the country the hospital was making some money. Not a lot but in these times any profit was good. So off course the meeting went on without any major concerns.
When Chris took the turn in the reports and queries round at the end of the meeting the mood shifted. "What I really would want to know is why there is such a difference between the neurology department and the rest of the departments. The wing is top notch, But should there really be a difference in gloves we use. At the nods and sounds of agreeing from the other doctor's Reid had to ask what this is about.
"Your gloves are thinner and feel like a second skin and we still have to use the crappy ones". Chris said with a pout.
Luke stood up and said. "When we were working on the wing Reid gave us a list of what is needed to make the neurology wing the best in the country. On that was this brand of gloves. I ordered it and put it on the order form. I did not took the other gloves of the list because I know a lot of doctor's have their own preference and I did not want to took that option away. But I must say that I am surprised and disappointed that you are using gloves that you don't like. Did anyone here really assume that it was forbidden for you to order a different type of glove because you were not giving permission to order. Honestly Chris what took you so long to just ask about it."
At that point Chris was silent and just make some weird noises.
Reid took over the conversation "Let's put it in the notes that everyone is free to order everything from the order form. And if you have a question ask me before you make up your own answer. My answer will be smarter and more logical. Thank you Chris for pointing this out."
After the meeting was closed. Happy doctor's and board members left the room with Chris feeling a bit foolish. Well that would not be a new experience for the doctor.
