I seem to recall a part that goes (roughly) "Those who pray on the street corner receive their reward on the street corner. But when you pray, go into the closet and shut the door, and your Father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
Which I always took to mean "don't pray in public, because it looks like you just want to be admired for your piety." And I kind of thought it fit in with the injunction against public displays of charity too. But, you know, what do I know? I'm not religious; I just read that stuff when I was a kid.
I am at least as in the dark as you are about which teams are playing, and actually hadn't even realized that this was superbowl weekend.
