vignettes, a bit too long to tweet

I learned that the academic economics community is divided into the "fresh water" and "salt water" factions - apparently this supplants the split between the Keynesians and the liberal classical economics types. I don't know anything beyond that.

Where did you have your veggie cheesesteaks?

I finally got to try one a week or so ago, at Govinda's. It was fine. I don't think I'm really that into cheesesteaks, however.

http://www.giannasgrille.com/ . They also deliver.

In addition to cheesesteaks, they have vegetarian and reproductions of a number of things that should really be on no one's diet. But every once in a while, like when I'm at a baseball game, I feel like my experience is incomplete unless I have something like a chili cheese dog. I'm usually a tad disappointed, but I think the disappointment of having had something and being a bit underwhelmed is less nagging than the "I should have...".

Oh, and it turns out that I can get them in DC at a vegan soul food restaurant. Soul Vegetarian Cafe & Exodus.

Perhaps I should have a conversation with your Coriander. I tend to keep worries about my mental health and balance under wraps but not only have I had this very experience of noise-making...or starting random, disjointed conversations... I've also just in general stopped paying attention to conversational threads. So we'll start a conversation, move from topic a to topic b to topic c. And then in the middle of discussing topic c, I'll stop and go back to topic a ( ... )

Coriander studied this once upon a time -- I wouldn't rely on him for actual medical advice. However, he is good for patting me on the head when I've picked up a little hypochondria.

But I have asked whether perhaps I should do something about my attention span. Of course, being a bit manic, when well-channeled, might not be such a bad thing:

Also, when I first scanned over the end of your reply, it processed in my mind as "Argh, maybe it's just lack of sex bringing me down. Does Coriander have any advice for staving that off?"

At which point I thought he'd probably suggest that you're on your own on that one. ;)
