i use it because i'm nosey, and i know other people are nosey about me as well. i get to keep track of my friends, coworkers, people who i haven't seen since highschool, and etc all in one page.

totally. it could be confusing at first, but you get used to it. and it's a really great way to keep up with everyone. even my high school reunion didn't bother sending out formal invitations to anyone - they just made a facebook group.
