This last one didn't do much here, either, even though the snow was coming down pretty hard at times. All the snow that fell on paved areas melted immediately, but we had drifts across the roads. Even those had melted or blown away by yesterday afternoon.
They said on the NY news this morning that they're keeping their eye on the coast for another storm Wednesday. They did say that it looks like it was going to hit south of us. I'm never sure though if that means way south of us, or NY will be spared but not central NJ.
That sounds similar to what we had. Thursday morning we woke up to a pretty good storm, and the roads got snowy / slushy pretty fast. But then it got warmer and while it continued to snow, it began to melt on the roads. I believe it then snowed all Thursday night, but we didn't see much of it on the ground when we woke up Friday morning.
The snow can go away now. I'm tired of it. We've been escaping most of the major ones that have hit areas of the country, but it's still been bad.
Dean Koontz! I love some of his older works. "From the Corner of His Eye" or something like that (sorry) is great. It grabbed me and wouldn't let go. "Intensity" is another wonderful one of his.
The Blind Side is definitely made of win. I wanted to see Sherlock but I think that will be a Netflix movie.
I don't know why it took me so long to get into Dean Koontz. Thanks for the recs. The Husband was at my sister's house which is why I picked it up. But I had poked around Amazon for other books of his to get, and I was lost at what to read next.
We're really happy with Sandy's progress. I was concerned over the leash issue because we had envisioned having a dog that we could take on walks, or to the park or to the kids' athletic events. So now that she conquered that, we just have to wait for the darn snow to finally go away so we can start doing more things with her!
They called it 'February Fury' on Weather Channel, now it's 'Marching In.' Enough with the hyperboly, guys.
I'm still getting over the end of the Men's Hockey game. Apparently the hockey gods decided I don't despise Sidney Crosby enough. (Overexposed, overhyped, and starting to believe it.) Plus Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson went 1-2 at the race in Las Vegas. :-P to the 10th power. The only saving grace was UVM scoring the go-ahed goal over BU late in the third period.
It's Monday. The first televised Spring Training game that I will be able to see is on Saturday, thank you WGN. Cubs and Somebody, bring on baseball.
Glad to see Sandy settling in. I forgot to mention, Sandy was Little Orphan Annie's dog, which is kinda fitting for your Sandy's situation. (Yes, I still remember the movie from 1982, with the DI from Private Benjamin playing Miss Hannigan. I can't remember her name.)
Music of the Moment: I'm Already Blue by The Kendalls
When we were driving back with Sandy after we first got her, we were throwing out different names for her. It was Eric that came up with it, and I instantly thought of little orphan Annie and how it was perfect. The funny thing is that of course being a guy, he didn't even think of Annie, he thought of it because of her coloring. Wasn't that Carol Burnett that played Miss Hannigan? I was thinking of that movie a few days ago when someone else mentioned the Sandy - Annie connection.
In addition to February Fury we've heard - Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse, Snowicane, but my favorite was Mor'Easter. I'm ready for it to be done too.

Glad your dog is feeling more and more at home.
And...you're welcome. :)
