1. Next week, kids are out of school for March Break. My girls and I took a trip across the border to buy all the amazing Pilsbury, Duncan Hines, and Toll House products we can't get here (ohhhh, the choices you guys have in the States--when the doors open at Meijer, my girls and I feel like we're stepping into a food paradise! lol). We're going to ( Read more... )

I know how you feel about losing hope. So I'll have hope for you instead. You're an amazing writer so I know it's a matter of time.

Thanks, Jo. It's so hard to keep your confidence up in this business!

Would your agent consider trying to sell the WWII novel here in Canada. I just can't imagine our publishers not jumping at the chance to buy it. *hugs*

I thought of that, but I doubt he would consider selling it here. I think he prefers to deal with contacts he knows face to face. And I'm not sure I want to go back to being rejected by editors in both countries. hehe

I hope, hope, hope your WWII novel eventually sells. Because I want to read it. Totally selfish, yes.

And no, you don't need botox. No one does, quite frankly. We all need to learn to embrace our laugh lines. :-)

Thanks, Karen. The rejections have so few commonalities, I can't pinpoint what's really not working in the book. I feel like calling editors up and saying, "I love to revise! I WILL revise!"

Jenny McCarthy is an idiot.

I hope your book sells, too, as Like Karen, I want to read it.

Now, shopping in the States is a novelty for me. I have never ever done it, but the teen wants to go to Buffalo to Dicks' Sporting goods to kit himself out for the coming season. Any food shops we should look out for in that direction?

Ha!

I read that you and T went across the border already. Glad it went well and T. got some good stuff there! Port Huron, MI is easy, because the main shopping is along one main road. We usually stick to the mall, where there's a Target, and then go to Meijer, which has pretty much anything you'd want to buy, including great grocery deals.

Another reader who wants to get her paws on your novel! I've been panting to read it since the day you first described it.

And your border raid made me think of the way David and I stuff our suitcases full of Hobnobs and other goodies when we come home from the UK. Why is it that everyone else's stuff always tastes better than ours?

Thanks, Amy. I wish I could figure out what the book needs to make it really sing. I would gladly revise again with some editorial guidance!
